LNP COMMITS $20,000 TO ANGEL PAWS IN TOWNSVILLE

An elected LNP Government will provide $20,000 in funding to a local not-for-profit in Stuart that assists vulnerable animals.

Angel Paws is an organisation consisting of hard working volunteers that give animals that society reject, a second chance in life.

Due to the cost-of-living crisis Angel Paws has seen an increase in the amount of animals being surrendered as pet owners face financial pressures.

The animal centre is in desperate need of expansion so they can continue to accept surrendered animals to prepare them to be adopted and re-homed.

“The LNP is pleased to commit $20,000 towards the fit out of an expanded wing of the centre, if Australia elects Peter Dutton Prime Minister,” Federal Member for Dawson Andrew Willcox said.

President, Clayton Cook said, “This funding will allow us to build a New Arrival Care & Assessment Room, a safe, purpose-built space where every dog is gently welcomed, medically assessed, and observed before joining the main shelter.

“It’s a vital first step to protect the health and wellbeing of our animals, volunteers, and vet team.  Ensuring safer transitions, better infection control, and brighter futures for every dog that comes through our doors.”

“The LNP will ensure Angel Paws can continue to care for animals in need from the greater Dawson region. The work they carry out for these vulnerable animals that have been given up through no fault of their own, is incredible.” Mr Willcox said.
