LNP COMMITS $500,000 TO THE NORTHERN BEACHES BOWLS CLUB

Federal Member for Dawson, Andrew Willcox, has today announced that an elected Dutton Liberal National Government will provide $500,000 to upgrade facilities at the Mackay Northern Beaches Bowling Club.

The Mackay Northern Beaches Bowling Club services the local community and offers a grassed bowling green, sports bar, bistro and gaming room.

Mr Wilcox said only the LNP has a plan to support the regional community members of Mackay Northern Beaches.

“The Mackay Northern Beaches Bowling Club is a not-for-profit organisation known for lending a hand to assist out local community,” Mr Willcox said.

“I am proud to commit $500,000 to go towards a new shade canopy for this much-loved community organisation, if elected under a Dutton Coalition Government.

“Currently there is no sun protection on the bowling green, so this funding will provide a safer option for participants particularly in summer.”

Mackay Northern Beaches Bowls Club Chairman Adam Johnson said, “We see ourselves as the hub of the Northern Beaches and without shade on the green it’s unusable months on end during the wet season.

“This commitment by the LNP will be a game changer for our community.”
